Is God Cruel?
Pray for Your City
|
If you want to embrace a positive prophecy, and minimize the sufferings you and your family will have to endure in the last days, then I suggest you start here, with this special prayer that Jeremiah gave to the exiled Jews in Babylon:
This is an amazing prayer, because the exiled Jews found themselves living in Babylonian cities that were fully devoted to the worship of demons! And yet here is Jeremiah telling them to pray that their cities will prosper! This just goes to show you how powerful are the prayers of the saints of the Most High God!
Jesus tells us that in the very Last Days before the Second Coming, the world will be like it was in the days of Noah. Matthew 24:37-39 What is important to realize here is that the earth was peaceful, calm and prosperous just before the unsuspecting flood came! In fact, Jesus tells us that normal activities will be going on, such as marrying and divorcing, buying and selling, drinking and eating. What Jesus is telling us here in Matthew 24 is that although there will be dreadful and horrible things happening around the world, there will ALSO be places where normal life will continue. That means that while Bosnia and Sarajevo are embroiled in the horrors of a nightmarish war, I as a Christian can still be living a peaceful and prosperous life here in my city of Riverside, California! Jeremiah tells me that if I pray for my city, my prayers will be so powerful that demonic forces will be driven out, and the kingdom of God can come down as a little Heaven on earth, even in the very last days! I don't want to suffer any more than I have to do, so I am eager to take up the fairly easy work of prayer to save my city, so I can live an enjoyable life. I hope you'll join me in such prayers, that all Christians everywhere might live quiet and peaceful lives. 1 Timothy 2:1-3 |
