Locusts are coming to strip away everything

Let the drunkards weep at the coming disasters

A powerful enemy army is coming to destroy

Weep like a young woman who has lost her husband

The food offering and drink offering has ceased in the temple

Let the farmer howl and wail, because the harvest is wasted

The vine, fig, pomegranate and fig trees have withered up

Let the priests and ministers sit in sackcloth, lamenting and howling

Let the people come together to fast in a solemn gathering

The day of Jehovah has come like a great ruin

There is no more food and the storage bins are laid waste

Joy and gladness are gone from the temple

The cows and sheep groan for the pastures are dried up

Fire has burned up the pastures and the trees

Fire has dried up the rivers
