Listen to this word of Lamentation, O Israel

The virgin of Israel is fallen and she shall rise no more

The city that sends out a 1000 into battle will have 100 left

The city that sends out a 100 into battle will have 10 left

Yahweh says to Israel, "Seek me, and you will live."

Don't seek Bethel, Gilgal or Beersheba. Instead seek Yahweh

If you don't seek Yahweh he will break out like fire on the house of Joseph

You who turn justice into wormwood, see Him who made the stars and created the earth and the waters

Yahweh brings sudden destruction to the strong, including their fortresses

Because you trample down the poor, you will not live in your houses of stone and you will not drink from your pleasant vineyards

You are guilty of many offenses --you afflict the just, take a bribe and turn aside the needy in the courts

Because it is an evil time, the prudent keep silent

Seek good and not evil, that you may live, and so Yahweh will be with you

Hate evil and love good and establish justice in the courts, and Yahweh will be gracious to you

If you do not repent, there will be wailing and crying in the streets

There will be wailing in the vineyards, because God is coming

Woe to you who desire the day of Yahweh, for it will be a day of darkness and not light

The day of God's coming will be like running from a lion only to be met by a bear

The day of God's coming will be like going into your house, leaning your hand against the wall, and being bit by a snake

God hates and despises Israel's religious feasts and solemn assemblies

God will no longer accept Israel's offerings and sacrifices

God can't stand Israel's praise music and hymns of worship

God wants justice to roll on like rivers and righteousness like a mighty stream

Israel has clung to their idols, so God will send them into captivity beyond Damascus
