This is the vision of Obadiah about what Yahweh is going to do to Edom

God has made Edom small among the nations because of her pride

Edom boasts that she is secure high up in the rocks but God says He is going to bring her down

If Edom should soar high like an eagle or make her nest among the stars, God is going to bring her down

If thieves or grape pickers came, wouldn't they only steal or eat until they had enough?

Esau is going to be ransacked and his hidden treasures sought out

Your alliances are going to turn against you. They will deceive you, lay a snare for you and prevail against you

God is going to destroy the wise men of Edom and understanding in the mountain of Esau

The mighty men of Teman will be dismayed and everyone on the mountain of Esau will be slaughtered

Because Esau did violence to his brother Jacob, he will be covered in shame and cut off forever

When Jacob was attacked and plundered by strangers, Esau stood by and did nothing, which makes God angry

Don't look down on your brother in the day of their disaster and don't rejoice in the day of their destruction

Don't enter the gate of God's people in the day of their calamity to loot and plunder

Don't stand in the crossroads to block the escape of God's fleeing people in the day of their disaster

Don't capture and turn in to the authorities God's people who are running away

The Day of Yahweh is coming for all nations, and you will be treated in the same way that you treated others

In Mount Zion there will be those who escape and it will be holy, and the house of Jacob will possess their possessions

The house of Joseph will be a fire that burns up the house of Esau until all of Esau is consumed

Israel will possess the mountain of Esau, the lowlands of the Philistines, and the fields of Samaria and Ephraim, and Benjamin will possess Gilead

The Israeli captives who live among the Canaanites will possess even until Zarephath

The Israeli captives who live in Sepharad, will possess the cities of Negev

Saviors will go up on Mount Zion to judge the mountains of Esau and the kingdom will be Yahweh's
